Failed to cancel membership as I requested back when covid hit. Over a year later , 8 months pregnant and still won’t cancel even though I haven’t used their facilities in over a year , it’s basically your word against theirs. If they have no “ record” in their system , apparently it never happened. They still refused to cancel the second and third time. Demanding money still and refused to stop debits as requested. Be careful, they absolutely are hungry for money and don’t offer any customer service or assistance , nor care about the facts in…

Read morevolved . Davina the manager dismissed any concerns I had , and even after paying debits for over a year after I cancelled my contract without even using their facilities , actually both me and my partner cancelled at the same time, they still do nothing and just keep sending you bills and adding on debits . As an owner of a very busy and popular online business and social media presence , I definitely will be making this known to all locals from our area . Do not trust these guys , the worst way to manage a business and treat their customers

Yes we too have had our memberships extended without any notification to us. To us that is theft and legally not moral. I can’t take money out other people’s bank accounts without their knowledge…how can they. They say it was because of Covid but are they tell the whole story of their government support and Jobkeeper payments that they also received while also charging extra membership..Never again will I recommend such a bullshitting gym.
If they want founding members west end at maybe they should have professional employees not dim whits . – cancelled my membership before I even started!! Rude people calling me rude after signing me up for the WRONG membership !!

Just did a “free trial” boxing class with Rebecca from Goodlife Caloundra, which was given to us even though we are here on holiday. Was intense, high energy and fun. Would highly recommend!!

Signed up happy to try because the gym was near work and my son’s daycare.
The contract is on iPad now which the staff never gave it to me to read, she kept ticking off everything and just telling me it was a great gym bla bla bla
Surprise surprise she locked me in a 12 month contract Which to cancel I have to pay $245!!! But wait there is more!!!! I have been emailing them for 2 weeks and nobody returns my email!!!!
No honesty to their members!
No work ethic!
Get that ipad in your hands & read everything because they will try to hide the information from you! Unbelievable but true!

Joined for a year, get to go to Cleveland and Alex Hills Goodlife, love the classes, the instructors are great and very professional, I probably go 5-6 times a week, if I can’t get into a class at one, I go to the other one. It’s clean, friendly , value for money, 100% recommend, also gym equipment well maintained and plenty of it.
I write this review as someone who has been a PT at a Goodlife gym, seen how they treat PTs and members. About a month ago there was an article published on news.com.au. You can find it or read it, doing a search ‘goodlife unpaid labour’
And to think management had the gall to know why I wanted to leave. They were probably more concerned about meeting their budget each month, so they could get their bonuses. Funny the club manager, customer service manager and PT manager are not there any more.
I agree 100 % of what is in the article. About t…
Read moreime someone called out this scam. No word so far from the head honchos or ‘fish heads’ refuting these allegations below. Why? Because the statements are true. Unpaid labour indeed. Plenty more needs to be told. If you’re offended easily, stop reading: – The business model relies on PTs coming through the door. It doesn’t matter if there’s 20 or 50 in club. More money for them. 90 days notice period says it all. Plus 310 a week rent, 2 weeks rent free per year and a rubbish 550 annual fee to get cards, uniforms (if at all) and your mug shot in club. – Management don’t care if people who sign up actually use their membership or achieve their goals. Funny how some staff or even some management say that senior management are going through the motions and don’t care. Sad but true.
[Name Removed] from Goodlife Beenleigh, this ones for you m8. I’ve been with Goodlife before and I felt cheated and lied too (another time maybe?), my roommate had a horrible experience as well and somehow got turned around and really enjoys Goodlife, so after months of convincing I took another chance.
You lied.
Don’t deceive me.
I specifically asked for Muay Thai and nothing else, you stated you had classes just to get me in the door – but you wouldn’t book us in until I signed up with my payment details during the free trial. We rocked up and it was nothing like I requested. It’s not hard to be honest, don’t screw anyone else around with your nonsense xx

I was a member for 7 years. In that time my squash court bookings were double booked many times. The court had flaking paint, breaking plaster and dust and dirt on the floor. In the 7 years I used it, the court was never once repaired or maintained. I doubt it was ever cleaned but since squash courts are in short supply we put up with it. When they closed the 1-and-only court, I cancelled my membership, giving several week’s notice. At that time I was unaware there was a 4 week notice period (they keep charging you through their 3rd party debit…
Read moreing agency Debit Success until the notice period is up). Soon after I had a call saying I need not cancel my membership because there was another club that had a court. I agreed to keep my membership but a few weeks later (having not actually used the other club) I discovered several problems (difficulty getting bookings and extra distance to travel to it) and decided against it. I informed my club and was told I now had to pay for my 4 weeks membership notice. I felt that was grossly unfair since I had given notice initially and was only persuaded to retain my membership by their suggestion. I also realised I had not been aware of this notice period. They agreed to reduce the notice to 2 weeks. I asked for proof I had agreed to these terms because I really felt they had messed me about and I should to have to pay even 2 weeks. All the while they kept debiting my account every week. I put a block on my card because I felt strongly that while a dispute is going on payments should be halted. Now I started getting reminders that I must urgently make a payment otherwise there would be penalties and a debt collector would be called in. I let Debit Success know by sms and email that I was disputing the payments but they took no notice, continuing to add payment rejection fees to my account. Feeling intimidated and stressed I decided to pay the amount they demanded, which included penalty fees. After I paid I continued to get demands for payment. I rang Debit Success who knew nothing about what was going on and told me it was up to Good Life whether or not I continued to receive the demands. I rang Good Life and they told me it was my fault because I should have let them know I had paid the account. I tried to make a complaint to their head office but there is no way of contacting them other than via a contact form on their site. I asked someone to call me about a problem with one of their clubs but 9 days have passed and I’ve heard nothing. I feel so badly treated by an organisation I’d been a member of for more than 7 years.

Super annoyed because they have sent my contract to debt collector. I tried to speak with them they promised me free training till my contract ran out with anytime fitness then lied about it now. I have a black mark against my name so here’s to you good life coomera your staff PT’s are selling gear out of the coomera gym some use coke to how do I know all this, i know a lot of people who go there who have said the personal trainers give gear for reviews on progress this gym is a joke.
Hi Larry and to whom it may concern,
Thank you for your email.
As you may understand I am extremely disappointed in Goodlife’s decision to extend all memberships to recover losses during the COVID lockdown period.

I’m not sure if you realise but so many people were affected during this time that will never ever recover there losses. I am so surprised that some clause in your contracts seems to have the ability to do this through an experience that no one ever expected to happen in their lifetime.
My original contract states a finishing dat…
Read moree which I was paid up to and for Goodlife to do this to try and recover their losses I think is disgraceful. The whole country is at a loss. My company had thousands of dollars of perishable flowers ordered for weddings and events when this first occurred and not one customer did we make pay. We took this as a loss to ALL. I have been a member of the Goodlife chains for several years and I am extremely disappointed in this behaviour. I will call to make a payment plan for $10 per week but I can guarantee you I am taking further legal action as I believe your decisions to extend contracts in such hard times is extremely selfish when everyone has been affected equally. I will continue to spread the word on this behaviour and endeavour to never become a Goodlife member again.
Don’t allow the ‘salesperson’ to talk to you while you are reading the contract, it is expensive and unfair, and do the maths before signing. The manager didn’t to explain where the total of my contract were coming from. We were charged the full fee during Covid restrictions when the gym didn’t operate on its full capacity.
Have had a bad experience paying for an unprofessional PT recommended from the gym staff, it made me lose all the motivation. Gyms are crowded, most of the staff rude, unhelpful, and they don’t clean properly.

I have been a member since Jan 2020 I believe. I do not use the main gym or PT, I just don’t enjoy it. I joined because the class timetables were good and fit around work. Unfortunately classes finished too early with competitors. I have really enjoyed the different classes, I also took a use any gym package meaning I can use any Goodlife accross the country. This has been paticularly handy when driving home from Brisbane to GC from work. If the traffics busy, I have Carindale, Logan or Coomera en route. I can do a class instead of hitting traf…
Read morefic. Most of the gyms are really helpful if you tell them you haven’t been before. I’ve found all the classes well run, and have been feeling much better after doing them. Facilities (change et) are ranked adequate to good depending on gym. I think having the use any gym is super helpful and worth a little extra.
When signing up with good life Nerang they take extra money out of my account and you can’t to anything about it. What a scam 15 dollars a week more like 25 what a rip can’t wait till my membership is over.
Be very careful signing any sort of membership or contract with Goodlife, they will exercise any option to leech money out of you even if you are unwilling. Then staff arrogantly belittle you when highlighting that you unwillingly signed on to something you didn’t want to. Be careful. Read the small print. Don’t trust their words unless in writing in a contract.
